A 3 MILLION bee hive?
« on: April 24, 2006, 01:55:39 pm »
I haven't found any posting about this, yet, but I found this on CNN.  I can't get a link to work here, but you can go to CNN.com and click on the video link to:

3 million bees in 7-foot hive in Florida house

I'm not sure where the reporter got his numbers from, but I sure would like to have a hive that big!

Seriously, though, I WOULD like to have a hive that gentle.

This one was six to seven feet, Don't think there were 3 million bees

I saw it on Comcast and it reported 3M bees and 15 lbs of honey.

http://www.comcast.net/providers/fan/popup.html?v=80884845&pl=80879152.xml&config=%2Fconfig%2Fcommon%2Ffan%2Fhome%2Exml

It said 2 feet wide and 6 feet high.

My pesimistic nature says ... I think the "exterminator" told the owner it was 3million and was able to charge more to remove them....

Well let's see here...... If a queen lays up to 2,000 eggs per day then the first ones to hatch would have to live 1,500 days for the 3 millionth one to emerge.

3,000,000/2,000=1,500/365=4 year old bees
