Need help finding a bee suit
« on: August 22, 2007, 03:29:41 pm »
I just purchased a bee suit off of eBay for my wife and now I am looking for one for me. It has no brand name on it but I want the same brand for me. The most noticeable feature is that the hat is soft and collapsible in the center. The veil is very rigid down to chin level and then very soft and flexible below the chin.

I am not a bee keeper. I am a farmer in an area of central Texas that is plagued by hives of bees. I am allergic to insect bites and stings. I had no issue with my allergy since 1991 until three weeks ago. I was attacked by a hive of Africanized bees. Medical personnel pulled over a hundred stingers from my face and scalp. If it were not for the swift action of my local volunteer fire department (which I am a member) I would not have received the EpiPen injection in time.

I need this suit to use while operating my tractor. The seller called it a "BeeMaster Suit. You can still see the auction at: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=260145882227&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=016

If anyone can recognize this brand, please tell me where I can get a 4XL verison of this suit.

I believe Brushy Mountain calls their suits beemaster.

Guess they changed the name to master beekeeper suit, but that is the one in your picture.  Doesn't seem like they offer it 4XL though.   You might want to check www.beeworks.com,  they make very nice suits and have 4XL.

From the Desk of Michael Bush:
Golden Bee Products Suit (ventilated, "sting proof" suit) 601-799-5660

I have one. Excellent suit.

if you can't find that one for some reason, try Mann Lake.  i got the jacket with the zip on hood for my husband and it is really nice.  they sell the full suit also.  finally broke down and got a jacket for myself after is saw his, and after the last nasty sting.

I really like the suits from Beecare, and they come in large sizes (with legs and arms long enough for a big 6'4" guy).  The small fit me perfectly.

FYI.... This guy never came back to the forum after the day he posted.

Don't know if he got the help he was looking for or not.  Perhaps next time he will at least let us know.
