Looks delicious! That much honey would last our family a little less than a month. :) Needless to say I'll need a lot of productive hives eventually..

I have no idea what kind it is.
My friend Ralph thinkg it's a combination of clover and privot hedge.
And I have a neighbot that has a huge flowering tree with small whit flowers the bees just covered.

What I really like about your honey is the presentation. I like the look of the comb honey inside a jar filled with other honey.

It's all about the presentation.  ;)

Oh I am so excited as this is my first hive ever!

Oh I am so excited as this is my first hive ever!

since you are in Ga, get a jar and hold it up towards a light, if it has a red color tent then it is from tulip poplar, that is one of the biggest flows down here in Ga. this year the weather hurt us on honey flows, during the last 3 dry years a single hive was filling about 3 supers each with poplar.
THAT's ME TO THE LEFT JUST 5 MONTHS FROM NOW!!!!!!!!

Congratulations.

Mmmmmmmmm, chunk honey!

My bees don't make enough for me to sell (yet) so if I give out chunk honey, it's usually as a very, very "special" gift. A sacrifice, even. Only if the occasion really deserves it.

That rates honey, for me!!!

How is chunk honey served/eaten?  I eat the wax in comb honey but not sure I want it on my muffin.

When you chew the wax bits along with food, they become unnoticeable. And swallowing the wax isn't bad for you in the least. In fact, it helps ease uncomfortable bowels. I don't think it digests... but it does soothe inner irritations.

Hm. It may digest somewhat. I do notice that when I eat comb on toast every morning, my skin is softer and less dry.

Cockatoo, lovely, lovely pictures of your beautiful honey harvest, good for you (and the bees, yay!!!).  Have that most wonderfully awesome and beautiful day, health.  Cindi
