By now (literally) many of you are finding the forum. Membership is way up, posting and images have gone wild and the content here has grown way beyond what I offer in my Beekeeping Course. In other words, my hope that making the LOGBOOK interlaced with the Forum is working well - giving visitors an extremely easy way to post questions NOT only to me but to the moderators and membership througout the entire forum.

March 20th, 2004I honestly think the snow is finally behind us. We have had a few days of extrodinary Spring Linke Weather and (although it is not going to last) it is a taste of things to come. MAny of the Spring plants are popping out of the ground and some even flowering - but we are weeks away from the main pollen source to my hives, what I like to call main street trees.
The bees are being shipped the first week in April, I hope that isn't too early, but I have a ton of honey stores - so they should be able to cluster well until the warmer days set in. I just want them here for that first pollen frenzy so that generation 2 (the larva from the packaged queen) is able to feast and develope quickly into a productive foraging force within the first month.
March 22, 2004I guess you have noticed that there are very little photos so far this season in this forum loggbook - please don't judge what is coming by what is here now. You can see TONS of images in the general beekeepingsection of the forum, Beth's Journal and soon here as I get the hives fully ready for the soon to be shipped bees.
2004 is going to be spectactular - mainly because we (currently have 54 members) many active contributing content daily and giving me a ton of reference to include here through links in this logbook of mine.
No other medium that I know of in the world of beekeeping offers such a range of feedback and content for the visitor or member to reference from. I'm writing this page in a catchup manor, tryting to get to the ACTUAL DATE that I'm writing it which is 3-31-04 - but I've been really busy setting up forums for the Moderators to keep their own online beekeeping logs and SOON a similar feature may be available to EACH MEMBER of Beemaster's Beekeeping Forum.
Imagine your own online log, whether you keep the information private or if it is kept open forum for all to read! Just the shear fact that you have an outlet of storing beeyard relative data on a secure server which can be accessed anywhere in the world is a really handly thing to have.
That feature (for members) is likely coming in the early part of April, I'm working on the best method to achieve a format that best fits everyones needs and is still beneficial to the forum membership as a whole.
March 23, 2004In relative real time, you will be seeing new forum categories that have popped up here at the Beemaster's Beekeeping Forum. There are several that are "member based" which are 100% non-beekeeping related, yet they are a part of our membership and I am proud to host.
We have a recipe section

Then we have Al's perennial gardening Forum

His forum gives great tips on reusing old tools for garden decorative pieces, amazing details on seasonal plantings that attract honeybees, hummingbirds and on and on.
This forum folks is a growing to be a village of information for the members to share and interact with each other. A place that they can feel at home and more importantly, a place they enjoy returning to again and again.
March 27, 2004Again, I have been catching up and finally I am almost there - bees are on order, hives are ready for them, tools are cleaned and burlap is rolled and ready for inserting into the smoker for the big installation day.
I made the Beekeeping forums for my wonderful Moderators and Beth's Journal

Al is awaiting the birth of his grandchild, so he is on Spring Break (lol) from the forum for a fw days, but DON'T MISS his Gardening Forum for incredible content and the recipe section that Al also has contributed greatly to.
My third moderator Jasthomas has the Basic Tool and Hive Construction Forum

You see, this year there are many more stories to follow than Beemasters! I surely enjoy writing you and shairing my rather average ife - most regular visitors to the site look forward to everything I enter into the logbook and NOW they can go BEYOND READING and actually particiapate - that is a major step in improving the vast abilities of my Beemaster website.
March 31, 2004Finally, it is today - I'm all caught up with the logbook for March. PLEASE COME BACK and look at it again, even as APRIL's LOG begins, because I have written the March weeks 1&2 and weeks 3&4 section in a matter of hours, using material I have cut from earlier HTML based log entries I made earlier in the month.

This site now goes WAY BEYOND me and what I do as John Clayton or as Beemaster (some see me as tossing on the Beemaster Suit like Clark Kent - trust me, I'm always Clark Kent - lol) but now you have multiple journals and logbooks to read, countless questions possed and answered by members with real life experiences in matters that would never come up in my life and my humble beeyard.
We have members from Malaysia, Nornway, Alaska, France, The UK, and all throughout the United States - these wonderful members make this the most exciting platform for sharing unique beekeeping information possible. Do NOT miss out on this opertunity to share in this powerful media.
