Hi all,
I joined this forum because I want to learn all about beekeeping so I can start beekeeping on my own next season. I live in Columbia, SC right now. I went to university to study wildlife and think it is time to start beekeeping. I just have no idea where to begin. I have read lots about it and watched youtube videos and "Vanishing of the bees". These inspired me to take the plunge and start seriously becoming a beekeeper. Right now, I am looking for someone to show me the ropes. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum. There are quite a few beeks on the forum from SC. And there is a lot to be learned from the posts here also.

Welcome to the addiction. I, too, fool with wildlife and bees which is a great combination. Columbia is a beautiful town and if I were closer would be more than happy to have you come peek into my hives.

Welcome to the forum, Daniel. You can also check into a local bee club. I have been to and gone through Columbia several times. Have several relatives there and Sumter and friends on lake murry. Good luck, and it is addictive.

Definitely check out any area bee clubs. Clubs often offer beginner's classes, and are great places to find mentors and get connected to nearby beekeepers:
