I am trying to install Adobe Reader 8.1.1 and getting an error code and the computer froze up for awhile. The Adobe web site suggest over 2 dozen possibilities for causes. I'm wondering if anyone on this forum had the same problem and found the remedy. It would save me hours of testing.
I have Windows XP Professional with plenty of memory and disk space. The only other thing that's that is interesting is that I have Corel X3 graphic program installed and the version of Adobe reader (part of Corel X3) is working with that program, but I can only open graphic files that is CDR (Corel). Any help will be appreciated immensely.

Don't install the version 8. Go to this page and download version 7
