One of my swarm traps I made so that the top bars would fit my KTBH.

LOOKS GOOD, i just made a square box, top bars were the top with a string holding a piece of plastic cardboard over them. trimed edges of the comb so thet fit when i was a little late transfering them

Thanks it has 11 top bars that will fit my hive. A 1 1/8 entrance hole with a nail splitting the hole to keep birds out.
Do wasp take up residence in them and will this matter to the bees.

How do I go about seeing a picture of it? I want to build one.

Also looks like his avatar photo is lost too. But the good news is that Stlnifr was on the forum this morning, so he is not lost and can hopefully repost the picture.

two years ago I had an empty TBH nuc that is basically the same as the one Stlnifr shows that had a swarm settle in it. I was very glad I had kept the top bars in place. Made it very easy to transfer the new colony to a full sized hive after they had time to get established.

I had a Japanese hornet build a nest in one of mine

Yes wasps and finches seem to like my swarm traps. No, in my experience the bees don't move in if it's occupied already.

For those like me, with middle-aged eyes:
