Bee max vs. wood hive comparison
« on: June 24, 2013, 10:09:33 am »

I do like the bee max hive, however, I am very concerned about its durability.  I am worried it is going to break whenever I start to loosen frames for removal/inspection.  This is my second year with it and, so far, so good.  You can see in the photo that even in hot, humid weather (around 90 in this photo) the bees don't cover the outside of the hive like on the wood frame to cool off.  I guess, over time, I'll see which one will be more durable, but instincts, and an educated guess, would say the wood will age much more gracefully!

Anyone who wants to share their experiences is more than welcome!

Thanks, Rich
