Post by: shado_knight on May 15, 2006, 07:29:30 pm
Greetings, this is my first year of beekeeping. So far everything seems to bee going good. On sunny days they are out frantically foraging!! I've had them for about a month now, they have fileld up more than half of the frames, so i'll be adding a second deep soon. Here's a pic of my beeyard, I have about the last big chunk of undeveloped land in the city for my backyard !

Nice bee yard! I kept bees with my dad in Ashtabula for as long as I could remember. He kept them up to a year before he died. After that I slowly gravitated into it and now consult all over Africa and Asia as well as run 600 of my own down here in Southern Africa. Good luck, it is a great hobby, just make sure to get yours or someone elses kids involved as the beekeeper is getting old in the US and pollination services will be big bucks in a few years like down here in South Africa.
