I think they ship on Mondays. I'm in NY, they're in Ohio, and I got mine on Wednesday.

BTW, the price of the bees includes the nuc itself. So I not only have some nice bees (I hope!), but two well-made nucs.

How much did they cost you?  Is it too late to start a new hive in Michigan.  I'm new this year and don't know too much yet.

They were $100 + $30 shipping--which is kinda steep, but 1. That was pretty much the real shipping charge ($26), and 2. I did get to keep the nuc boxes. Since I now have five frames of brood and honey and lots o' bees, I figure they're getting a stronger start.

Dunno if it's too late where you are. I'll probably feed and feed and just hope to get them built up rather than going for honey this year, since I started so late. But I'm a total newbee myself. :)

Is there a club you can join? At least you can get some practice for next spring.

It is only too late to raise surplus honey.  It is not to late for starting colonies that will be well primed for next year.  By starting a colony and feeding it to stimulate the queen, you can get the comb on a number of boxes drawn out and the bees up to full strength by fall.  Next spring they will be ready to split or raise boxes of surplus honey.  I have a couple of nucs that you could get.  I am in Highland Park, Illinois which is about 30 miles north of Chicago.  I don't know where your at in Michigan but it may be worth it for you.
