My Package install queen flew the coop

my 2 week inspection of My package from 2 weeks ago has no queen.

Did you direct release her or let them eat the candy from the cage?

i poked a larger hole in the candy . checked a few days after and she was out.

I assume you are making that call because you are not seeing any eggs/larvae anywhere (besides not being able to see the queen anywhere).

I had  most drawn comb. no eggs or larvae to be found

when i installed the package i used drawn comb from a dead-out . i added a feeder ,bees and 7 frames of drawn comb. poked the candy with a ice pick and placed her in the hive like i always did and a few days after i checked and there is no queen and no eggs! question is ..how are they able to make a emergency supersedure cell with no eggs? i think i need to pull a frame from another hive with young eggs and place that in the package! correct?
