Early Summer flowers

The spring flowers are fading, all the irises are now gone and we're moving on to the early summer blooms here in Colorado. The blue salvia's are about spent, and the white salvia has only a bit longer. The poppies, roses, lavender and the clematis are now all going strong. The day lilies are just starting. Here is a shot of the Bachelor Buttons that opened recently and our (
now famous
) Bee Crossing sign surrounded by the Red-hot-pokers this time of year.

There are strange things done in the midnight sun by the men who moil for gold. The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold. The Northern Lights have seen queer sights, but the queerest they ever did see, what the night on the marge of Lake Lebarge, I cremated Sam McGee. Robert Service
