More great news, I am getting between 35-50 colonies now or more, just as quick as I can get more hives or colonies. I also plan to split my strong hives in the spring and get more that way. My dad is really getting into it, if he builds a house out at his farm where the bees are going to be kept we are going to put a honey room and shop on the front. Are first goal is 1,000 hives. Once we get up to say 700 he will be able to go into the company full time and we will get to work with each other all the time like we have always dreamed of. We are mostly going to raise them for the sale of honey and products. I think once we reach are goal of 1,000 we might try raising queens and if we get more hives we will sell nucs too. I figure we can reach this goal in at least 5 to 6 years, bye!!!

Wow! What a cool goal. I'm sure you'll reach it too, and in no time be way beyond us "hobby" beekeepers. :)

It's great news Ryan.

Hi Ryan,
That would be great! There was a Bee Culture article not long ago about a man who did just that. He started with 2 hives and now has 1,000, and he and his family are full time beekeepers.

Was it in the american bee journal? My grandpas friend let me borrow some of his to read and I read that one, I am trying to figure out how to order my own, do they have a site or phone number? I hope we can get going as soon as possible, the thing is we need a new road down into the woods becuase we are going to have a giant bee vally with a central feild and a central creek. If they need more food they can go to two other top feilds. In about all we will have 10 acres of feild space planted just for there harvesting, all the other land around us is farm land so there is plenty of pollen and such. bye
