Transitioning to mediums and foundationless?
« on: January 18, 2009, 10:59:38 am »
We are in the middle of "thinking season" now and my plan is to remove the bottom deep and place a medium on top of the two remaining mediums in the spring when I clean the bottom boards.  I would like to move towards foundationless in the brood chambers too.  How would you configure that top med if you had drawn comb available?  Move up two frames(with brood) from each lower med box and replace those with foundationless, and add six more with starter strips to fill out that top medium?
"Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones."  Proverbs 16:24

Sincerely,
TWB

Put one starter strip between the top brood frames , and when center strip is filled-out sandwitch two more starters . On bottom checker-board where a starter is on top full frame on bottom . Works for me . :)
