I am glag someone is moving to NY . We need help paying our taxes. So many people have left NY the rest of us are to poor to leave after taxes. Wait till you see your property tax bill , deposit on water bottles, gas tax if you smoke bring them with you. I am glad I quit. A lot of the taxes are not taxes ? just user fee's? At least Albany only has winter for 5 months a year. Welcome to NY The people are great. Tony

Thanks Tony.  I grew up in the New Lebanon/Stephentown area.  Just been misplaced for the last 17 years exploring other possibilities with the Marine Corps.

Its just time to come home.  5 months a year winter is not so bad.  I just need to figure out which family members get beehives placed on their farms now and which ones dont.  :-D

Welcome home!  Been in the military for many years now and just started to explore the bee world last year. Good luck on your hive placement.

Welcome back,

I'm a little over and hour away.  Just west of Kingston.   My sister in-law lives in Rensselaer, so I get up there once in a while.  Maybe we can get together sometime.

The good news is your in driving range to Betterbee

Hey Rob I would like that.  It looks like right now I will be temp placement in Stephentown in a large camper on my uncles property until we get the KC house sold.  You know how the market is so it may take all summer.  Bee sure to bring your suit so we can mess with some girls.... :-D

I thought better bee was in driving distance.  I have been talking alot with Drapers in Ne and they may hook me up with their distributors and other distributors and after the dust settles I may open up a bee equipment sales in the Stephentown area.  We will see.

I sure cant wait to get back in the Mountains.  I been living this flat dry windy plains life too long...

I grew up in Troy.  It is a beautiful area and I miss the trees mostly.  My wife, from Oklahoma, went home with me for the first time and couldn't believe how tall some of the trees were.  Having four real seasons was nice too.  Mudlake is correct though - the taxes are brutal.

Taxes suck everywhere.  I will be working for the Arsenal on the other side of the river.

I have been looking but cant seem to find it on the net.  Who is the state entomologist?  I need to contact such person to make sure my bee migration is done legally...

After all I dont feel like paying more taxes....

Brian:  Conratulations on move. I wish you the best of success.  I am sure your hives will get there safe. THe problem is nothing a couple of big trucks won't solve.

Thanks Brian.  My dad is coming down and we are going to use a couple trailers.  He has a 1 ton and with my F250 both trailered up we should be good to go.  BTW I have a few wooden top feeders in good condition if you need some before I leave.  Send me a note.  Or maybe send me a note on your wish list and I will see what I dont feel like packing to NY!

Welcome to NY!  I live about 2 hours south of Albany.  Good luck moving the bees, and let us know how it goes!

Sounds like you have it all planned out.  I will look forward to buying some of your honey when you get up and going.  Be sure to stay in touch.  JP, Christmas is best when combined with Easter!
