Pollinating orchards :)
« on: January 07, 2010, 08:29:50 pm »
Hello fellow bee keepers my name is Chris live in northeast pa. I have two questions for you. I am interested in pollinating services for orchards and farms. What is the going rate per hive that i should charge for this service i don't want to work cheap and kill prices for the market. Also when it comes to pesticides on trees, what is the best method for the bees if farmers have to spray the trees. Can they spray after the blossoms or after the rain has washed it away i don't want to have dead bees any info on how to go about talking to farmers about the spray is of great help to me. thanks in advance.

Be sure to have a contract that states when the farmer can spray and when you need to move the bees.
