Another one today at 10:30am. I think that's 5. I'm running out of equipment. :-D And I like it. Gotta get busy.

Missed another one early this week - went into a wall and the exterminators beat me to it. Went to one today. The maintenance man had sprayed it with wasp and hornet killer and ran the swarm inside. Dead bees inside and out.

Stay tuned, I'll probably miss another one real soon  :-x

had a swarm hanging 30 feet from the beeyard this afternoon.  went 100 yards to the barn to get a hive and they were leaving when i got back.
it's only been a few days since i went through my hives so i was kind of stumped about where they could have come from.  i went through all my hives and found the queens in every hive that was supposed to have one (i've done a couple of walk away splits recently).  only had queen cells with larvae in one hive (went ahead and split it).
i hate that i lost them but i'm glad they weren't mine.

Got a call this afternoon. Swarm has gone into the wall of a house. I decided to wait a few hours until dark, to open the wll and remove them. When i came back, i could hear no buzzing in the wall. We will see if they are still tuere tomorrow. The home owner may have killed them with spray, before getting help.

Got another call about a swarm up the road. Again, sounds like they made a home in a second story wall. Checking it tomorrow too. Looks like a busy swarm season beginning here in eastern nc. I need more equipment.

As far as following the swarm progression goes, is there a way to track them on a map like they do mushrooms:
http://morelhunters.com/

It used to load fairly quickly, but seems like they went to using Google maps or something so it takes a long time now.

10framer, that is probably where they are. Went back last night, but never found them in the wall. Owner is unwilling to open floor. He was going to poison them today.  :'(

i expect a lot of swarm activity in the southeast tomorrow.  a couple of days cooped up because of the rain will have them fired up.

Got me a swarm today. I went to the fellow's house and asked where were they. He said right there in that bucket.

How much should I charge him?

Just kidding, same guy I mentioned yesterday. He said he didn't have anywhere to put them. It don't get no better than going by someone's house and picking up a bucket with a swarm. I'd say between 1.5 & 2 pounds. They come from his hives, said he don't treat.
