I do not have a table saw. Does anyone have plans for cutting finger joints with a router?

Also I have a work bench, portable, can I cut a hole in it and some how secure my router to the underside and use this as a router table?

Can I cut handholds with my router?

Thanks for all your help any detailed plans would be appreciated very much. :)

this sounds like it would work as long as the work bench is not too thick. too thick and the bit wouldnt project far enough through. the router is usually screwed to the table by removing the bottom plate from the router and then screwing the router to the table with countersunk screws from the top of the table.

Here in Lubbock TX we have a little joint called Re-Tool. They buy and sell used tools. I picked up a router table really cheap. I think harbor frieght is fairly cheap also.

I got a dovetail jig for my router through Rears and Sawback a few years ago. I don't know if they still have that item or not.

I do have a table saw, but prefer to use a router with the half-blind dovetail jig. Personally, I find it quicker and easier.
