A queen bee is an amazing baby makin' machine. One of the wonders of nature, and what the royal jelly can do for one simple bee.

it wont hurt to get honey from the frames that have larve in them would it as long as I remove them cause I got one frame out and was going to take it out and it was like nothing but honey and white squirted out.

ewwwwwww LOL

Bee larvae may be a delicious treat in some countries, but I'll pass. I have at times taken frame that have larvae on it, with the honey, but only when it's not much lavae. With those frames I have to cut the wax with the honey in it, and then smash the wax/honey.

Yea I hate having to cut through brood to get a comb to fit in a frame. (Ferel bee hives) All that white stuff comes dripping out.

Told you all I dont have many friends & little things excite me and to esp. see up close the makings of a bee and how it changes woo woo woo woo it is like biology all over again The science of life and of living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution. It includes botany and zoology and all their subdivisions.
The life processes or characteristic phenomena of a group or category of living organisms: the biology of viruses.
The plant and animal life of a specific area or region.
and that little frog too

Title: chittin
Post by: burny on May 10, 2005, 07:34:50 am
bees are made of chittin wich sounds like a combination of rock candy and wax. thier chemical make up is very similar to a jelly bean. i think thats why they taste good although i have never tried one.
may your bees live long and prosper

I thought chitin was more like a combination of fingernails and mollusk shells...

Remember that hairy roach legs are also made of chitin.  I won't be eating any, thank you.
