Title: Just wondering...
Post by: zzen01 on January 25, 2011, 02:07:55 pm
If at the end of the now real cold winter I open up both of my hives and discover they are dead can I, re-use the frames when I put in new pakages or do I need to scrape them clean and let the new bees start over? If they are not dead then what?

Giving bees drawn out foundation is a boost for them.   Helps them out by having frames ready to go.   Even if you have a little wax moth damage, the bees will clean it up better than you can.

And if the bees are not dead?   Then maybe you get honey that summer.
