Does anyone know what actually happened?
The repots are confusing, saying he 'shattered' the hive tying to move it onto his roof at midnight, and that the bees got inside his 'potective clothing'.
It all sounds a bit odd.

Getting 40 stings while moving hives at night is about average.

Thanks Pete,  all makes much more sense now.
Trouble is most people will just remember that a lot of dangerous bees almost killed a beekeeper in a bee suit, and complain more furiously to their local councils! :(

Ozbuzz contacted me the next morning asking if I could go around and put the guys hive back together. I wasn't available but a bee friend of mine was able to sort it out for him.

Apparently the guy had been out to the comedy club and had a couple of drinks. He came home and decided to move the bees onto his roof. Now, I'm not sure of this part but I think the guy had secured the 2 boxes together with some tape. He put his bee jacket on, grabed the bees and proceeded to climb the ladder. The tape gave way seperating the 2 boxes, as he had his arms up carrying the hive his jacket was riding pretty high. Once free, the bees started climbing over him found some gaps and got under his jacket.  :-\

Should be able to get milage out this story at the Comedy Club or anywhere that people want to be critical of bees. I hope the guy comes through okay. I dont think an epipen gunna do much for ya if ya a bit sozzled.
