I am stoked because we entered our first sled dog race last weekend and it was a blast! My two pups outran some 3 dog teams. We had a great run and hope to do it again soon.

you picked a good place for you pics.

just a thought....  i don't care if you don't eat meat.  i don't care if you don't hunt.  i do care, and maybe i am alone....when your post implies that there is something wrong with those of us who do.   there are animal rights people who would say that attaching dogs to a sled and racing them is wrong.

we usually try to live and let live around here, even when we are having a disagreement.

don't read the stuff that bothers you.

good luck with your race.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

Point well taken. And certainly there are SCADS of animals killed to feed, and "treat" these pups, who in my opinion really look like they are suffering, not!

A 1000 mile race like the Iditarod, where there is LOTS of money riding on it, and a grueling 2 week 24/7 schedule, is much different than 3 or 4 mile recreational runs/races.  There is a darker side to sled dog racing that the animal rights folks have legitimate arguments against. And I have legitimate arguments against hunting and eating meat...but NOT against the PEOPLE that do!!  :-D
