New guy from central MN.
« on: February 21, 2009, 03:06:14 pm »
Hello everyone. Here's a quick intro. I live in central MN, on ten acres, in the middle of lots of great fishing lakes. I used to keep a couple of hives approximately 25 years ago, in northern MN, for a couple of years. During this time, I received lots of help from a friend who was the brains of the operation. I am now going to try to get back into bee keeping and see if I can run the operation on my own. I'll need lots of help, and would be interested in some guidance if anyone is close to my location.

Good to be on board.

Thanks

Welcome

Welcome from a former Minnesotan. I always say "its a nice place to be from" I now live in North Carolina and do not miss the winters
Its nice to see someone getting back into bees, It a learning process, but a rewarding endeavor. You can count on learning alot here, many experienced folks to get guidance from.

Welcome to the site.

May I suggest a local, county or state association. After learning what we have to offer here, you may do some service by teaching some of those entrenched oldtimers a thing or two...  :-D

Leechman, welcome to our forum.  Your handle sounds intriguing, have you had close encounters with lots of leeches or something, smiling.  Getting back into the bees.  You have been held under their spell for all these years, it has resurfaced.  This will be a place where you can lean on us for advice, tell your stories, tales and experiences, and also make some new and good friends.  Stick around, we love new members.  Have a most wonderful, most awesome day in this grooving life that we all live, love and share.  Cindi

Thanks Cindi, my name is one that I use on a fishing website. My son and I are have a part time bait business. So he and I catch leeches and minnows and wholesale them the bait shops. Thanks for the welcome. Things are going well. I have contacted a local bee guy and arranged to buy nucs this spring. Last night I think I got a handle on some hive boxes. I'm getting so close I can taste the honey. Thanks again, Take Care

Leechman, got me intrigued.  Start a topic on how to catch those there leeches, I am not kidding.  I would love to hear what you do.  Go into the forum called "outdoor activities" and tell a story about the leeches and minnows.  I would love to listen.  Only when you have some spare time though.  Have a most wonderful and awesomely great day, love our life.  Cindi

Leechman, you have met my twin in cyberspace, Poka-Bee.  Everything I love she loves, everything she loves I love, we are identical.  I shoulda been called "Poka-Everything-Too", hee, hee, smiling....Now, bring on those leech pictures and stories (when you have time, and after you have made a few posts, you need to have made a few posts before you have picture privileges, so get going!!!  smiling).  Have the best of a wonderful day, great health.  Cindi
