Nice video!  I saw JP and Schawee on there, but you never introduced the guy in the bee suit!! I'm not sure I've seen him before... :-D

I too have a Robo-vac and use a pool hose.  I found that if I throw something soft in the bottom to break their rapid slide down the tube, something like pine needles or shredded paper, that it works much better, I very rarely see any dead bees in there.

I have good luck with 2 1/2" smooth interior woodworkers dust collection hose attached to my robo bee vac. Took time to hand file down all the raised edges on all the conection fittings. I make sure to keep the hose as straight as possible and I try very hard not to get honey on the bees. I seldom see more than 10 - 20 dead bees after each job. Last Saturdays job which was an inside removal where I used the vacuum from the get go I didn't see but maybe 5 dead bees total.

If I had taken one between the eyes like you did, Schawee wouldnt have been the only one named Squinty.

Let's see:
> sweat band - check
> safety glassed - check
> cotton balls stuffed in the nose - ..... hmmmm, I don't think so.

Had to hurt a bunch.  Hope the swelling wasn't too bad.

I've had bees in my nose before but my number one fear is a bee going deep into my ear canal and stinging me there. I've had several try to go there but I've managed to change their minds!  :-D

Why do friends find it so hysterical when you get stung?  It seems like they are wishing, perhaps even praying you will get stung for their amusement. With friends like that who needs enemies, right?  :-D

Right Schawee?  :-D

And don't think its not reciprocal buddy!

I think it was in a post from Bjorn one time that I read, "Go ahead and laugh at me when I get stung, because I am sure gonna laugh at you if you get stung". Thought is was pretty fitting.....and amusing.

Yeah, when I get a really painful sting, I'll yell out to Schawee, "Man that one hurts Schawee!" His typical response is well, "what you want me to do about it?"

No love at all folks!

And when that solitary bee out in the middle of the pond at Bud's stung me on the temple for no apparent reason, Schawee & Bud ganged up on me like there was no tomorrow!

They had a ball with that one folks. I can laugh about it now (sort of) but at the time the only ones laughing were my two buddies Bud & Schawee.

Of course if Schawee had taken that sting Bud & I would not have let Schawee hear the end of it!  :-D
