Antique wax press?
« on: September 22, 2013, 11:39:56 am »
Hello.  MyI name is Steve.
my grandfather who died in 1972 was a well known beekeeper in south Georgia.  He and his 5 brothers were all beekeepers who moved to Homerville Ga from the north florida area in the early 1900's.
I have a wooden instrument of some kind that belonged to him in the early days.  I don't know why he saved it but it is interesting.
I believe it might be a wax press or something of the sort.
it is wooden and has about a 18 inch handle on it.
as soon as I get a pic of it I will add it to the post.
Thanks.

The only wax presses that I ever seen looked like a early hamdcrank pasta machine. However do I see that it's hinged? Might be some sort of preformer.
