What kind of hive is this?
« on: May 25, 2011, 01:35:33 am »
I just talked to a home owner who inherited a hive from the previous owner of his house, and he would like it removed.
I haven't been to look at it yet, but he says it is mounted on a fence post and has hinges to open it.
I seem to recall seeing some hives in Europe that had doors on them, and know very little about this style. I'm hoping I can move them to a Lang hive without too much hassle.
I was born about 100 years too early, or to late.

There could be millions of types of hives out there, including a mail box hive.  Brushy Mountain have a garden hive mail box in the catalog.
