Mountainboy.  Welcome to our forum, nice to have you here.  You are already keeping bees, that is wonderful, and you will want to learn more and more the more that you get to know, hee, hee.  Getting a mentor that you can help will really assist you alot with getting to know how to better manage your bees.  Enjoy your stay with us, we are a curious bunch and enjoy when new members come here.  Have a wonderful and awesome day, Cindi

Hello and Welcome!

This is a great forum to learn about bees. There is an endless amount of "bee knowledge" from beekeepers around the country and around the world, available with just a few keystrokes!  I use the 'search' function a lot. Very often I find that my question has already been asked & discussed, and I can get an immediate answer.

Are you connected with a local beekeeping group? I've learned a great deal from nearby beekeepers and always recommend getting involved with a local club. It looks like there are a couple of clubs not far from you. If you're looking for bees, you could make some calls and I'm sure someone could hook you up:

Welcome aboard:

I lost one hive from Absconding (as near as I ca figure it) for no real reason, they just left - no CCD or UFO beaming up this year, just bees finding a better home I image.

I'll be moving 1 to 2 hive (let's see how well I do from not to when I move my hives to my new home we close on June 20. Seems like forever, but we have all the time in the world to move from our current home, which is very near the new home - moving the hive/s isn't an urgent part of the move. I have a good handful of projects, including upgrade to the electrical service from 100 to 200 amps, adding Cnetral air (which since the house didn't have it, we saved a bunch when bidding - Air should cost about $4000 total to tie into our existing forced air system :) And most importantly it will be new.

Anywaay, pics of my new house in the photo section - chec out all the different section here, we have an eclectic forum, where you can enjoy many topics. Best wishes.

Welcome aboard from Opp, Alabama.  A Newbie myself only just starting with Bees.  This is a great place to learn everything bee related.  My Wife and Stepson have 12 years experience working (he caught his first swarm by himself at 9 years of age) with bees. I haven't worked with them since I was a kid, I'm 54 now.  We have all learned so much here, sure you will too. :)
