Hello All
total newbie here
my first hive is 4 weeks old and looking good
I'm getting ready to put a second box on it
I made up some grease patties and was going to put one between the boxes
crisco/sugar/honey/wintergreen
but, won't they just melt?
if the bees maintain the temp in the low 90's I would think crisco would run all down between the frames and make a terrible mess
???

No, they won't melt. If anything they will crumble when you move them, bind up against the bottom of the frames above them, and get all over. They also seem to always be on top the frame you want to inspect.
