Depends on beetle population---- normal conditions about two weeks.

I am still new at this and have just bought 2 beetle traps for my hives.  I do not know how to install them.  Do I remove a frame and how do I attach them to an empty frame?  I don't see any evidence of beetles in my hives and would like to keep it that way.  If anyone has pictures of it in there hive it would help.  Thanks

If they are AJ's beetle traps ,there is room inbetween the frames to install. The trick is getting veggie oil in them because they are so small.I used an eye dropper wifie bought at dollar store . Good luck and Merry Christmas.

Sorry, no pictures here.

Sounds like you may have hood traps???

AJ's Just drops between frames on top of frames

Hood trap mounts on bottom of empty frame.

Bees will most likely be clustered this time of year in NC and I don't believe the traps will be effective. Bees have to run and corral the beetles for the traps to work well and even then I have had mixed success using them.

From the pictures below it looks like I have AJ's beetle traps.  It looks like it will be in 70's by the end of the week so I will be trying to put them in this week.  Do I use mineral oil or vegetable oil?

Thanks for the help
