Langstroth type hives?  Or do they use another type in Romania? I am a woodworker too, and was thinking that once I get the hang of all of this, I would attempt making some of my own hives as well. Does your dad use dovetail joints on the corners?
Sorry for all the questions, I find it interesting to compare with others from around the world.

We use Dadant hives with 10 frames 1/1. Above we put frames 1 / 1 or 1 / 2.

We normally combine the corners at 90 degrees. The front and rear is 4 cm and the sides are 2 cm and use an anti-varroa bottom.

For all corn and almonds and many other things.  The amount of honey is different every year depending on weather and how strong the hive is ( it might have swarmed and you lost half your workers).  I usually get between 23 kg to 45 kg per hive if it is a good year.  Country :)

berry crops, squash crops, fruit, nuts, not so much the corn, but most other things.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.
