Feeder Cans
« on: April 21, 2008, 06:01:48 pm »
Got a couple 1 gallon paint cans from Home Depot for feeders.
What size hole do I poke and on which end ,,to make a syrup feeder.
Using chicken waterers now but thier a pain in the butt to refill because of the pebbles I used to keep the girls from drowning.

No bigger than 1/32".  Just use a small nail with a board behind it and try to barely poke a hole.

The lid.  Otherwise it will leak while you are filling it.

Quail waterers work better and require no pebbles.

I use 4d nails and just tap them enough to break the metal--if the 4 sided pyramid shape isn't there it went to far.  4 sided pyramid with slight air gap at the end.
