>#1- HOW MUCH POWDERED SUGAR FOR VARROA AND HOW OFTEN?
I've never used any except in a jar for counting mites. But if you manage to coat the bees well, that's the goal. If you're doing it now with no brood, once is fine. If you're doing it when there is capped brood you'll have to do it every week for at least three weeks to make much difference.
>#2 HOW LONG BEFORE I NEED TO REMOVE SUGAR WATER FROM BEES THAT WILL NOT EAT IT? (ONE HIVE EATS AS FAST AS YOU PUT IT THERE)
You can leave it all winter if you like.
>#3-WEST HIVE BEATTLE TRAP, HOW LONG DO I LEAVE IT ON? I CHECKED THIS WEEK END AND IT HAD SOME LAVA AND SHB. STILL SAW SOME SIGN OF WAX MOTH DAMAGE. DO I SCRAPE IT OUT?
Don't know. We don't have SHB here. Yet.
>#4-WHAT ELSE TO USE FOR ANTS? CINNAMOM DIDN'T WORK FOR ME
Half borax and cheap jelly mixed together. Much better than cinnamon, I've discovered.
>#5-WHAT ABOUT A MITE-TA-THOL TREATMENT? DAYS ARE STILL IN THE 70'S PLUS
I've never used it. Do you see any signs of tracheal mites? "K" wings?
