Anybody use weed stop fabric under their hives?

Since I went to top entrances I don't even mow around the hives.  :)

Excellent!  Work good for you?  Is that bricks holding down the corners?  Ever use mulch on top to keep it in place?  I've got access to a huge pile of free ground up trees.

Yes, I actually covered it with wood chips in the spring.  Works quite well.  Although after a year or so of the wood chips decaying,  I started to get grass growing.  But with the fabric, the grass couldn't get deep roots and easily pulls out.  Beats having to mow or weed wack in the front of the hives.  Also makes it easier on those fully loaded bees that miss the entrance,  no more struggling in the grass trying to get back into the air.
