Feeding honey?
« on: June 06, 2009, 05:54:28 pm »
A friend gave me a 3/4 full quart jar of old honey he hasn't eaten. Was going to just throw a feeder top on and drop it in a Boardman feeder. Figured I might better ask some other folks if they've ever just fed a jar straight like that. Anybody think I should water it down first? Just curious. None of my books say anything about it. I've never had just a jar to feed them. It's always been sugar syrup. Thanks...

never feed honey to your bee's that you dont its history, honey can carry diseases like foul brood and other such things, if you ever feed honey to your bee's I suggest it come from your own hives.

store bought may be some of the worst, it is blended honey from other countries and from no telling how many hives so your chance to give something to your bee's is even greater then.
