Pollen? being brought in.
« on: March 26, 2013, 06:34:49 pm »
It is a new one on me or I don't remember it, but a semiglossy grey substance not in balls but irregular elongated chunks coming in in the pollen baskets.  Does this ring a bell for some early spring tree pollen?  Or have my bees found a new and exciting form of toxic waste?  I saw no other colors of pollen and frankly I didn't expect to find any.  Just not time yet here.  Thanks for any ideas of source.

You sure it's not prophilis?
most often i find my greatest source of stress to be OPS  ( other peoples stupidity )

It is better to keep ones mouth shut and be thought of as a fool than to open ones mouth and in so doing remove all doubt.

Nothing for propolis that I have ever seen.  I thought of fowl droppings to aluminun flashing goop on roofs.  The silver  blackjack could be a possibility I guess.  A lot of it was being brought in.

Plum, Elm, Blackberry and Raspberries have grey/bluish pollen. 50% of what my bee's are currently bringing in is grey/blue in color right now.

never take the top off a hive on a day that you wouldn't want the roof taken off your house
