In our town there was a BROTHERHOOD WEEK of interfaith lectures that brought some prominent members of the Church uptown to our synagogue. One dignified lawyer looked at the English translations in our prayer book and proclaimed, "My God, the Jews read OUR PSALMS!" "Yes," explained the rabbi, "they are everybody's Psalms that King David wrote 500 years before the beginning of Christianity. "Well that's interesting," said the lawyer. "But do you Jews have anything like OUR TEN COMMANDMENTS?"
