posting a video
« on: January 18, 2008, 02:52:34 am »
I loaded some pics and videos from my trail camera and would like to post a video. I can locate the file, and name of the file but how do I go about adding the video to a post? Thanks guys for the help.

Sincerely, JP

I think to do videos you need to upload to somewhere like youtube and post the link on the page.
It actually works like that for photos too except it is done through imageshack and you see a small preview as the photo.

JP, just a quick note, I have to go and get my day going.  But try hard to get that video uploaded and a link sent to the forum so we can watch this.  Cindi

Putting a video up on YouTube would probably be the easiest way.  When I have posted videos onto the forum I have not used YouTube, however.  I transcode the video from my camera into flash video format, then I upload it to my server, then use my own custom media streamer.

This forum software does not seem to support the BB code youtube tag, so wherever you put the video, the only way people can see it is if you post a link to it :(

I guess we should just try to get the admins to install this mod to the forum: http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=936
Then we will be able to post the videos inside of the post.
