So how did you like the Robo style vac?
Personally I would have hung it off of the side of the lift to cut down on the length of the suction hose.
Nice cut out, giant observation hive.

You got that window clean. I was thinking maybe just cut the whole window out and replace it with all that crud on it. That was an amazing hive. How many buckets of water to clean up all that honey that dripped everywhere? Great video. Where do you find your music used in editing?

Damm that was a good job, well done. Tell me mate, do you ever start a job and think "crap, I've bitten off more than I can chew on this one"?

I was sure hoping this was not the one! :-D

Nice Video. I take it you were not able to get inside the building to look at the window from the inside or was it also boarded up on the inside?
-
Great vid! Thanks so much for making these. I've learned so much just watching you all.

Another good one. It never ceases to amaze me how well they can adapt to the space they have.

The original inner walls are likely all brick. The building has been modernized with aluminum studs & sheetrock walls which have covered some of the windows, including this one.

Hey JP
I worked for a cable company years ago. I'll still take digging 3 feet into the ground anyday over working 35 feet up in the air.
:flyingpig: :-D

I want to see some video of Mhood with a Bushkill Bee Vac strapped to the front of his ride saying "I'm goin' to get me some bees!" :-D

Now that is funny Rob! :-D
Maybe next time we'll do just that!

Question about your bee vac technique:
Is there a reason why you use a long hose and short extention cord (which makes the bees go down a long hose) instead of a long extention cord and a short vac hose (which would allow you to put the bee vac close to the cutout)? Just asking, thanks.

The bucket has a weight limit. For a good part of the removal Emil & I were in the bucket together. Rob who invented this vac told me he has done several removals with 24' of hose with minimal bee losses. Schawee has done a good handful using more than 20' of hose with minimal losses. We had minimal losses on this removal using 36' of hose.

That is good information. I have not used a vac yet, but it seems like having the vac and box a good ways away from the work would be a good thing.

WOW!! Psychedelic cut out with color changes, rock music and everything. Like the new video technique you are playing with.
This was an awesome cut out and one I will be sharing with all my beekeeping friends over here.
Thanks for sharing JP
