Title: Sound of the Hive
Post by: rail on July 21, 2011, 05:16:18 pm
We are getting several days of hot temperatures this week in the Piedmont. The hive "sounds like a fan" this afternoon. Would assume the girls are on the comb fanning?

I like to put my face into their exhaust and inhale.  Have to emphasize the inhale part. They don't take kindly to mammals breathing into their space.

I like to put my ear against the back of the hive. It sounds kinda like rain on a tin roof...I love that sound :)
