Swarms in Cardboard Box - Dead Queen!
« on: April 01, 2011, 04:05:39 am »
Ah crap! Caught three swarms today. Simple very low hanging swarms.
One queen was crushed. She crawled underneath the box bottom flaps and was crushed!!!
Never thought of it but in the future I'm taping those down! ARGH!  :'(

combine that swarm with one of the others and you'll have a nice, strong, hive.
Someone really ought to tell them that the world of Ayn Rand?s novel was not meant to be aspirational.

I gave them three frames of eggs/larvae. Hopefully they can make an emergency queen.
If I didn't break 2 out of 3 capped queen cells during today's removal I could have put one in there! Ugh
