Amazing video.   Did you put the parts back on the engine block?  And Schawee, why no more bee videos?  You are breaking my heart.

Love it. I particularly liked that when the bees swarmed to the blood weed, JP said something like, "Let's just enjoy this for a while"...that's how I felt the only time I've stood in a swarm. It's so cool. Yep, "if you don't like this, you're dead, folks."

And, as usual, I learned a lot. I could watch these all day. (And I think your haircut looks very nice, Schawee.)

That one looked like a lot of fun! A lesson in diesel engines to boot.

Peggy and I did a two-fer this last Sat. that was a really nasty. The first colony was as gentle as can be...took 60-70 stings from the second one. Peggy even got one up inside her nose that immediately dropped her to her knees.

That one swarmed as well just before we started on it.

"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag...We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language...And we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Folks, Schawee will be back with the team this coming spring, in fact I'm hoping for a whole lot more videos with Schawee. I just started filming this past season and missed a lot of great swarm catching footage. Catching swarms is the most fun a bee keeper can have IMO.

All good things do have to come to an end, at least for a short while, even down in south east, Louisiana.

We still have the cooking video to bring to you.

Thanks everyone for the feed back. I really appreciate it.

Scott, sorry Peggy got stung in the nose, that really hurts!

Liz, I just love swarms! And standing right in the middle of them is the best place to be!

Allen, ain't putting the engine back together, besides it needs to be cooked to get all the comb out of the bottom section of that water tank.

OK now this was exciting as it gets for sure. I was so involved in this one, not knowing which way the bees were going and having them swarm. I really learned a lot from this video and can see that cutouts can become many things.

I just loved that one bee at the end sitting on your camera.

Thanks again for sharing JP. Very thrilling and fun for me. Will share these with the 4H people.

Annette

Oh I wanted to mention that I think you guys were extremely relaxed in these videos and that made it even more enjoyable.

Thanks Annette, you're one of the few people that pick up on the little things that I deliberately put in my videos, such as bees buzzing past the camera or on the lens.

I include stuff like this because I find it interesting.

Glad you do also.

Schawee, you got me ferklempt as my wife would say.

Definitely many more videos to come buddy.

JP, you were clipping the leaves from that stalk like a man on a mission while most of the swarm was still in the air.  Why do you do that? I ask because I probably would have waited until they settled down, but I know you must have a good reason.

Liz, I was on a mission! I was trying to find the queen before they all landed on the stalk but the best I could do was grab the stalk and shake them in the hive set up.

The sky was pretty full of bees and to up my chances of finding her, I wanted to weed through as small a number than a larger massive number to find her, but still to no avail I never did see her that day.

I spoke with Schawee yesterday evening and he said he saw the queen yesterday while going through the box when the bees were out foraging.

He said she was pretty large and striped.

These striped queens are hard to find, they blend right in with the other bees.

BTW, my tripod has been in the shop for three weeks!

Can't wait to get it back, its hard filming without it and poor Schawee couldn't be in the video during the swarm as he was filming me!

Always enjoy your videos, too bad schawee won't be in anymore of the bee videos - the bickering is half the fun.
be happy and make others happy.

Oh, it was just some silly dream I had.

I was up on a cliff looking down and there was this really big gator sunning himself.

I inched closer to get a better look and my feet came out from under me and I catapulted right on top this big ole gator.

He tried to get me after that, but I had help from some friends who pulled me out of the clutches of death!

Just a silly dream really, probably inspired by this croc video Schawee sent me: http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=fa7_1285938220

Now JP, show part 2 of the croc video.  You know the one with the legs sticking out of the croc's mouth.
