Schawee, are you sure you’re not a modern day Dr Dolittle?

Bees follow you.  No gloves.  No fear.  No stings.

That is a small swarm!  Up here, I’m afraid I would have to throw my toaster in the nuc with them for the winter :)

Nice video!

Thanks, schawee. You're a bee magnet.

By the way...I've now tanged 4 swarms. Two in my yard, one via coaching a friend (Big Daddy) on the phone when her hive swarmed, and one in the Zia Queen Bee yard in Truchas, NM.

Tanging works.

I couldn't even catch a swarm from one of my own hives. Yep ZIPPO this year for me.   :-x

Good catch.  My last swarm was like that.  I was working around my hives when a swarm came in and landed in a tree about 50 yards away.  It was a small one.  I put it in a medium nuc to start, then moved them into an all medium set-up after they had a chance to build up.  Pam's 4 year old granddaughter painted the hive before we installed the girls.  It's the purplest hive you'll ever see.  She loves her hive, but she's still not to sure of the bees.   :-D
