Title: How do I get me avatar to upload?

I have a picture that I want to use as my avatar but I can't get it to load.  I am copy and pasting the address to the picture (which is on facebook) in the avatar location in my profile.  I click "change profile" but I cannot see it when I check one of my posts.  Can you tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks, I appreciate it.

My wife jumped in and she thinks that she solved it.  If you don't mind I will just let her play the hero tonight  ;)
