Bumble bees and honey bees sometimes compete on a few things, but mostly the bumble bees have longer tongues and prefer plants that the honeybees don't.

Here is a frame from one of my bumble bee hives. Can you see the Queen?

I really do not have a bumble bee hive and I have no idea if there is a queen in there. I think some set up house under some frames I set out for the bees to clean then forgot about them. (they were broken so they were just getting cleaned out before being melted down). Anyway when I picked them up I found a bunch of bumbles.

I think they like honey but I really did not see any trying to get into my hives (maybe they had enough honey in the old frames)

Ooooh Greg.  What a beautiful picture.  Come to think of it, why wouldn't the bumbles take advantage of already made honey for their little honey pot in their colony.  That is a gorgeous shot, beauty. Have a fantastic day.  Cindi
