New guy from NE Colorado
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:39:06 pm »
Hello all.  Just a short intro, I guess.  Wife and I own a small, I guess you would say Hobby, farm on the high plains here in NE Colorado.  40 acres...nothing fancy.  We raise some sheep, a few goats, several head of cattle and a bunch of poultry.   I am ex Army, retired, and just wanted to return to my roots.   And now along with all the other critters, I am wanting to add a couple hives of bees.  We would like to have our own honey and then either sell or give away the excess to our family and friends and neighbors.  We currently do not have any hives so I have come here as one more way to learn as much as I can about beekeeping and then the best way to obtain the hives and bees.

Hi Goldchaser!!
Youre in the right closet for bee information!..The next closet over is fun too!( I just decided "Closets" are the different forums in beemaster)
At any rate, welcome to the forums!
I'm assuming that you look for gold sometimes too? Theres a guy in here who looks for gold and he posted awhile back if there were anybody else in here who goldpanned, but I cant remember who he was..I bet he'll find you soon enough tho!
Have a good time in here! It gets silly sometimes, but we all have bees in common!!

your friend,
john

Welcome aboard

Goldchaser, welcome to our forum.  Sounds like you have a lovely little farm thing goin' on.  This is a place where you can learn lots on how to keep bees.  You have chosen a field in life that will hold you entralled deeply, you will be held under the spell of the honeybee, as we all are.  This is a place where you will lean on us, you will have a place to tell your stories, tales and experiences, and make some new friends.  Stick around, we love new members.  Have a great and most wonderful day in this groovey life we all love, live and share.
