First real hive inspection
« on: May 11, 2008, 11:42:12 pm »
Made my first real hive inspection today.  I was assisted by my wife and in-laws.  They all are very interested in the process.  Here are the results of todays activity.

05-11-2008

Hive # 1 - Green Monster

   - Feeder Removed.

   - Hive Inspection
      - 8 of 10 frames with drawn comb
      - Eggs noted on 5 frames
      - Necter and pollen on 6 frames
      - Queen visualized.

   - Added second deep hive body

   - Added baggie feeder above second deep.

   - bees very docile.
   - All seems well.

Hive # 2 - White Castle

   - Feeder Romoved

   - Hive Inspection
      - 8 of 10 frames with drawn comb
      - Eggs noted on 4 frames
      - Necter and pollen on 6 frames
      - Queen NOT visualized.

   - Added second deep hive body

   - Added baggie feeder above second deep.

   - bees very docile.
   - All seems well.

I was very pleased with the results today.  The bees are very friendly and do not seem to mind the intrusion.  All went well and I am already looking foward to next weeks activities.
