Making Fume boards?
« on: July 05, 2004, 11:58:05 pm »
Has anyone made their own fume boards? I would like to make a few fume boards before Sat. They look very easy but what type of fabric would be best?  I thought it looks like felt but really unsure?? It seems that any type of natural fabric would work!  Thanks Debbie

I was told to use flannel in the construction of fume boards.  Give us your feedback as to what you use and your results.  Thanks.

I would also recommend flannel.  We used to use fume boards for wax moths and flannel worked well.

Judy,

There are various "fumes" on the market.  Bee-Gone, Bee-Quick, etc.  I have personally never used any, but I understand some of them smell pretty bad and you don't want to get it on your clothes.

If you ever smelled baby puke thats what bee-go reminds me of,but it does the job of getting bees out of the boxes. All my fume boards have felt and have lasted many years
