Title: Beekeekeeping in Asia/India
Post by: ApiAnon on May 17, 2013, 03:50:56 am
Dear All,
I would like to create a new post on beekeeping in Asia with Apis cerana.
I am working in India with Apis cerana indica, but I am not able to easily find forum about the Asian bees. :?
I started a pollinator program with women beekeeper and I would like some advice.
I would like to know what are the perfect condition for Apis cerana to stay in a hive. I have some difficulties to understand them.
For example is it better to put the hive in a shady area or sunny area? Which direction the entrance should face? Any trick to reduce the chance of absconding?
Thanks
Apianon

Hi Apianon,

There are several variables to consider with any honey bee hive. For example, if your climate is very hot then a sunny location may not be the best choice. Can you tell us more about your local environment?
