Greetings From Phoenix, AZ!
« on: January 24, 2012, 08:03:43 pm »
Hello! Newest member here and brand-new to beekeeping. We live in the Phoenix Arizona area and are backyard farmers. With the rapid decline in the bee population, we've decided it's high time we got off our butts and make a contribution. My wife grew up in a family that raised bees, but that was over a decade ago and I'm a complete novice, but I'm very interested in learning all I can so that we take on this new interest correctly and responsibly. Being in the Phoenix area, we not only have the task of starting with nothing but a desire to learn, we also face the problem of Africanized bees too. This forum seemed a great place for us to start. Any advice and suggested reading would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you live closeby, or know of anyone who lives in Phoenix, we would be very interested in meeting you/them and getting an up-close look at how things are done here in the desert. (But be prepared to answer a million questions).

Thanks!

Dan Punch
