Those dogs sure are cute but I watched something on TV about them and they said if you squeeze them to hard their eyes pop out of their heads and you have to push them back in. Yuk!!!

Annette did you really see that? My gosh, I have 5 of those dogs(pugs) and have never heard of that.
As if they aren't big enough pains in the butt they better not start having their eyes popping out of their heads.

It was on a show called "dog 101" on TV. They went through different breeds of dogs and told all sorts of stuff about each breed. When they came to the pug, they did say that. I will never forget it as it was so, so strange to me. They also said they were bred with flat faces and they have great difficulty breathing because of the flat face. They also said they could actually die if they get overheated.  Otherwise, they are supposed to be extremely lovable dogs.

I think they said if you squeezed them to hard around their necks or perhaps their head,  that's when their eyes would pop out.  Anyway do a search and see if you can find this wild, wild information.  Hope I didn't upset you.

Oh no annette, you didn't upset me at all. I'm just joking around about my dogs.
You are right though about them not getting overheated, they are also sensitive to the cold.
I think they have trouble regulating their body temps as well as the breathing.
When its hot out I put a fan on in whatever room they happen to be in, they love to lay by my fireplace when its cold out too.
They are extremely lovable dogs, they say that the females will love you but the males will fall in love with you.
